This version of the model shows two different painting schemes of aircrafts used by Italian Protezione Civile and by French Securitè Civile.
Main differences from the fs2000 version are:
- Due to the new modified gestion of model for FS2k2 it is possible now use only one model for both land and float. Now due to the new realistic way flight simulator handle water it is possible land in any water surface with realistic wake effects.
- New lights effects.

The AIRCRAFT __________________________

Canadair CL215 had been in production for more than 20 years when plans began on a development of a turboprop version of the aircraft. The CL215T version utilised the proven airframe of the piston engined Cl215, but replaced the Pratt&Whitney R-2800 radial engines with more efficient and lighter Pratt&Whitney Canada PW123 turboprops. The new aircraft was fitted with wingtip endplates and auxiliary finlets to increase lateral stability. The Spanish air force has so far been the only customer of the variant , receiving a total of 15 conversion kits to use on its existing airframes. Following the receipt in 1991 of an order from French government for 12 new-production aircraft, the CL415 was officially launched. This designation was choosen to distinguish new aircraft from the retrofitted CL215Ts. The first deliveries took place in 1994 and there have been a follow on of customers such as Italy and the government of Quebec, who use the aircraft mainly for the fire fighting duties.

MODEL _________________________________

This model for Flight Simulator was created using Flight Simulator Design Studio Pro (FSDS Pro), from Abacus Publications (http://www.abacuspub.com). The model features full moving parts with a realistic rendered motion of the main gear, a nose wheel steering, and pilots in a virtual cockpit.

PANEL _________________________________

Panel is a work from Rolf-Uwe-Hockmuth and it tries to catch the look of the real panel instruments of the aircraft. The bitmap of the panel is based on a photography with superimposed various default gauges and with others coming from various freeware sources. Due too many gauges used in the panel, which are default of fs2002/pro, it can be only used with Fs2002/pro version. UWE has devised a method to simulate the increase in weight for the water which is contained in the two tanks for water bombing. He reserved the two central main fuel tanks two host the load of water which can be adjusted from the fuel entry in the aircraft menu (The content of theese tanks are not usable as fuel). A special instrument has been adapted in upper middle of the panel which shows the water contained in the two tanks and variations to its level.

If you don't have Fs2002/Pro you may download an older version of the panel from my web site www.maxtac.it. The name of this file is C415MT_Pan01.zip

Credits ______________________________

I wish to thanks my italian friend ANDREA CINI for his valuable work on the original air file for this model. He have lost a lot of time on trying to recreate the right feeling for the plane and I think that he achieved it. Many thanks also to many other friends who contribuited to the model in various manner.
Many thanks to
ROLF -UWE- HOCKMUTH AND TO
ERIC TURPIN "Snake Man"
who both made the first effort to convert the model for Fs2k2 providing me with the new aircraft.cfg file which I tweaked a little more to solve some small problems left.
A particular thanks goes to Eric Turpin for his works on textures for Securitè civile.
